Tuesday was ominous for cousins Ashley Dauber, 13, and Nioami Lazicki, 15 as their meet their end after 9 p.m. that night. The young victims were hit by a car on Bayshore Drive in Green Creek. Police have arrested Joshua Malmgren, the driver of the vehicle and police discovered that the suspect was intoxicated at the time of the fatal crash.
Investigators said that Malmgren was intoxicated. NBC10’s Jesse Gary already spoke to the parents of both of the victims.
Middle Township Police have arrested Malmgren in connection with the crash that killed two teenage cousins Tuesday night in Middle Township.
The arrest of Joshua Malmgren, 30, was made at the scene of the fatal crash on Bayshore Drive in Green Creek that killed cousins, Ashley Dauber, 13, and Nioami Lazicki, 15 while they were walking with Nioami’s sister Farrahanne east on Bayshore Drive.
Niaomi’s mom Christine Lazicki told NBC10’s Christine Maddela that her daughter texted her that they were on the way but eight minutes later received a call from Farrahanne informing them that Ashley and Nioami had been hit.
Lazicki rushed to the scene but both girls were pronounced dead. She could hardly believed it was for real and wished it was just a nightmare..
The mother of Ashley Jennifer Dauber was distraught as Ashley was her world.
Vehicular Homicide, Driving While Intoxicated and Reckless Driving is filing a case against Malmgren for multiple charges including two counts of Death. He is being held at the Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of $50,000 cash bail.
