Early Saturday morning tolled the death of one person after a car crash. Philadelphia Police are investigating a fiery crash in Torresdale’s section in the city that left one person dead.

The wreck took place a few minutes before 2:30 o’clock in the morning when the driver of a Mazda for unknown reasons lost control of his car and slammed into tractor trailer that was parked on block 9000 at Torresdale Avenue.

Police stated that the driver was traveling such top rate of speed that when the car crashed it was wedged under the tractor trailer. It was lodged under the rig before it burst into flame. The driver was trapped under and was not extricated fast enough that he was included in the fire. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

No other person was injured as the tractor trailer was unoccupied.
