WAYNE COUNTY, Ohio — The accident happened sometime after 6 o’clock in the morning on State Route 83 at Britton Road, just south of the Medina-Wayne County line.

At least one person is dead and others are injured following a three-car crash in Wayne County. The accident happened sometime after 6 o’clock in the morning on State Route 83 at Britton Road, just south of the Medina-Wayne County line.

The Wayne County Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol stated that the coroner was present at the scene and confirmed that there was a fatality. A spokesperson was unable to say if there was more than one fatality.

It was a three-car mishap but authorities were unable to provide more details about what caused it, or how many people were hurt.

The road was closed for several hours after the incident but troopers stated it was reopened before 10 o’clock in the morning.

According to Ohio State Highway Patrol, one man died after a crash on State Route 83 in Canaan Township. The mishap took place on a Friday morning when a car and pick-up truck collided head-on. There was a third vehicle involved but it was not heavily damaged.

According to troopers, the victim came from Wayne County. They added that there were two people in the truck and one inside the third car. All of them were delivered at a local hospital sustaining non-life threatening injuries.

State Highway Patrol trooper confirmed that one man was killed in a three-car crash in Canaan Township, just south of Lodi, Friday morning. The three-vehicle accident involved a car and a pick-up truck, plus a third car. Route 83 between Britton Road and Sterling Road was closed for several hours but later on reopened.

The identity of the victim has not been released.
