Police tell NBC10 was informed by the Police that the injuries are minor |Saturday, Jul 28, 2012   Updated 10:10 PM EDT

Saturday night was not a lucky time for two Philadelphia police officers who were victims of a car accident. They were on their work routine when the unexpected event happened. The police officers suffered only minor injuries.

It was shortly after 6 p.m. when the accident happened at the intersection of West Hunting Park Avenue and Front Street.

Witnesses informed the police that a minivan hit the police car. The impact was strong enough to send one person inside the van to the hospital. According to officers on the scene, one person from the minivan was hospitalized for minor injuries.
