A road accident claimed the life of a pedestrian who was a 7-year-old Kendessa Castille from Church Point.

State Police stated that the mishap occurred a little after 7:00 o’clock in the evening at 190 east of LA Highway.

The errant truck was operated by 67-year-old driver, identified as Vincent Fruge resident from Eunice. He was going west along 190 while another truck identified as Ryan Godeaux, age 22, resident of Eunice was driving behind Fruge.

Troopers say the little girl was attempting to cross the westbound lanes of Hwy 190 when she was hit simultaneously by both trucks.

Neither of the two drivers, Fruge nor Godeaux was hurt in the crash.

Authorities had taken from both drivers the routine toxicology samples which will be submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
