June 29, 1967

Jayne Mansfield who could compete with Bombshell goddess, Marilyn Monroe, died on the early morning hours on this date. She was also a Hollywood beauty and a silver screen sex symbol.

Famous for her hourglass figure, enticing eyes and cleavage-revealing costumes, Jayne Mansfield was too young to die. In the early morning hours of June 29, 1967, Mansfield was riding in her 1966 vintage Buick 225 Electra when the vehicle rear-ended a truck at the Interstate-90 east of New Orleans, Louisiana. Her car hit the back of the trailer and straightforwardly went under it. The impact decapitated Mansfield as she died on the scene.

Her two other companions in the car were also killed. Car victims may be entitled to financial compensation for pain and suffering in addition to economic damages.
