Authorities today reported of the death of a 19-year-old boy who was accidentally run over by a family member right in their driveway at El Monte homes. The fatality was identified as Javier Romero who was outside his home at Block 2200 at Bryce Road.

Officer Jimmie Pitts of the El Monte Police Department reported that at around 11:00 in the morning of Sunday, Javier Ramos crawled their front yard to the driveway, where a family member, age 18 was backing a vehicle towards n the street.

His mother near-by watching him and other children. Pitts believed that she must have turned her attention away for a few minutes so was not aware what the boy was doing. The accident just happened and the boy was delievered to USC Medical Center of USAC where he was pronounced dead.

The accident is still being investigated and no charges have been filed.
