LOMITA, Calif. — A woman was taken to the hospital after her car smashed into a home on Thursday. The couple inside the house woke up to find the vehice in their kitchen.

The couple was not harmed whilst the female driver was sent to the hospital.

Two walls that enclosed renter Bobbi Martinez’s kitchen were taken out during the crash and her unit was the only one damaged in the incident.

Martinez said that they heard noises that sounded like things crashing onto the floor but her boyfriend had ran out there and said that there was a car in the kitchen.

The driver was going to Lomita Boulevard, for reasons unknown, when she lost control of her vehicle, according to the LA County Fire Department.

Although the damage to the car was severe that the driver was needed to be extricated, the woman only suffered minor injuries.

The vehicle crashed near the gas meters but the lines were not damaged.

Martinez said that she and her cats need to look for a place to live in despite only having moved in less than a year.

Ron Vandevanter, owner of the property, said that he hopes that the insurance company will help them relocate but the most important thing is that everyone is safe and all can be fixed.

The rest of the building should still be OK. Only Martinez’s unit was red tagged.
