CHAMBERSBURG, FRANKLIN COUNTY—A deadly crash Friday night occurred Friday night near Wilson College in Chambersburg. Emergency crews immediately responded to the mishap which took place at around 9:56 p.m. along the 1000 block of Philadelphia Avenue.

According to the Franklin County Department of Emergency Services, the Franklin County coroner’s office immediately responded to the call after a car overturned.

The fatal accident claimed the life of a Chambersburg man who was pronounced dead Friday night after a fatal accident near Wilson College.

Chambersburg Police Department identified the victim as Michael J. Fields, 34, from Chambersburg. He died in the traffic accident at 1015 Philadelphia Ave. at 9:54 p.m

Police said that Fields was operating the vehicle when it went off the roadway at the intersection of Philadelphia Avenue and College Avenue.

A release from Franklin County Department of Emergency Services said that at 9:56 p.m., the Chambersburg Fire Department was dispatched for a motor vehicle accident with possible entrapment

DES continued their statement that both Chambersburg police and fire officials arrived on the scene where a vehicle had overturned.
