Due to a multi-vehicle crash, Interstate-610 East was closed for several hours causing delays and a critically injured woman of 28 years.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation just reported about the accident and the closure of the highway at the I-10/I-610 Junction. The traffic was jammed causing the congestion reaching all the way to Causeway Boulevard. The wreck happened occurred a few minutes before 9:00 o’clock in the morning.

No other information was given about the injured woman. The DOTD stated that the lane at the right side of the highway was closed to traffic due to the accident. The cause of the wreck was an 18-wheeler and an overturned vehicle.

By 11:00 o’clock in the morning, the area was cleared so the lanes were soon opened.
