Elizabeth Ramos, a Cal State Long Beach student, was hit while jogging along Bellflower Boulevard last February 4. Two charges are filed against suspect driver, Ali Vahdatiasl, age 78 = for running a red light and critically hitting the young student.

Detective Sirilo Garcia of the Long Beach Police said that Vahdatiasl is currently facing two charges – violations of a red light and over speeding. Although Garcia continued that authorities will be filing charges against Vahdatiasl representing the City of Long Beach for vehicular manslaughter if the accident proves fatal to Ramos.
