A Friday early morning crash in the eastern area of New Orleans fatally injured a 27 year old man. Police reported that the man was driving along Mercier Street’s Block 7900 a little after 1:00 o’clock in the morning when the mishap occurred.

Police stated that the young male driver was operating a Cobalt white Chevrolet with four doors. For unknown reasons, he slammed to a truck parked along the area. A Good Samaritan passing by immediately removed the man from the car which subsequently burst into flame.

EMS responders arrived at the scene and treated the man on the scene but there was no need for an ambulance as the man transpired after a while.

Edgar Edwards who is fatality investigator said that they will try to find ouyt if alcohol played a role in the crash so they applied toxicology analysis. Meanwhile investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed as of now.
