PAGEDALE, MO – A hit and run incident on the 7300 block of St. Charles Rock Road, Pagedale claimed the life of a 4-year-old while leaving his 10-year-old brother in critical condition. Both children were struck as they were crossing the road at around 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

The police were able to track down the suspect with the help of a surveillance photo and a tip from a witness. They found the driver that they believe was behind the wheel of the truck that was involved in the incident. The suspected driver was 54-year-old Ricky Weeden from St. Louis City.

The suspect was arrested by the Missouri Highway Patrol officers on Sunday afternoon. He was locked in St. Louis County Jail in Clayton overnight. His detainment resulted in the pending of the warrants issued by the St. Louis County Prosecutor’s office.

Family and friends of the deceased victim, Traye-shon Williams who should have turned 5 this December 4, left a memorial of stuffed toys and messages on the accident scene. His older brother, Jayshard Conner, was already out of the ICU on Sunday and is already talking.

Weeden faces the charge of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident with a felony bond amounting to $50, 00 cash. Weeden has had a criminal history, among of which includes driving under the influence.

Destruction of evidence is one possibility that the police are looking in Into because the front parts of Weeden’s truck were removed.
