HARFORD COUNTY, Md. – Traffic at I-95 near Havre De Grace was at a standstill because of an accident involving a 26,000-pound truck, police reported.

According to Maryland State Police, this Friday evening a passenger vehicle collided with a Penske truck.

The accident turned into a dangerous situation when police saw that one of the truck’s diesel tanks was ruptured. Police had to call emergency team to clear the area.

The good news is that there were no persons were injured and the cars are being detoured on exit 89.

Another vehicle mishap happened Tuesday morning in almost the same location that traffic had to be slowed down due to the accident on I-95 northbound at Route 100 in Anne Arundel County.

Road accidents have slowed down traffic on several areas in Baltimore City – I-95 southbound at the Fort McHenry Tunnel; I-95 northbound near Route 295; Priestford Road near Churchville Road in Churchville, Erdman Avenue near North Point Boulevard; Liberty Road near Abbie Place in Baltimore County, Dogwood Road near Lord Baltimore Drive in Baltimore County, the outer loop of I-695 near Perring Parkway in Baltimore County, and the inner loop of I-695 near Belair Road in Baltimore County.

A utility problem caused the traffic to slow down on Route 7 eastbound near Mayflower Road in Baltimore County.

Due to water main repairs, North Charles Street was closed between North Avenue and West 21st Street in Baltimore City. Officials recommend that motorists use Calvert or Howard streets or I-83 as alternate routes.

Water main repairs also closed Guilford Avenue just between Madison and Monument streets. Motorists were advised by officials to use St. Paul Street or I-83 as alternate routes.

Monument Street is closed between Wolfe Street and Patterson Park Avenue in East Baltimore, due to sinkhole repairs. All the 35 buses of Maryland Transit Administration has also been diverted.

These conditions show that traffic is affected not only by traffic accidents but also other factors.

There are no major delays reported on area transit systems.
