EVESHAM — A man who was hit by a car on Route 73 is being flown to an area trauma center Friday. Fast action of the emergency team is a good way of saving lives. Time element in handling emergency cases is essential.
The police said that at about 1:15 p.m. yesterday, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of the highway about 200 yards north of Baker Boulevard.
Reaching the scene of the accident, the police saved an unidentified man from the wreckage. The man was in his early 20s and had a serious head injury. They decided to transport him as soon as possible by calling a helicopter.
He is being taken by helicopter to Cooper University Hospital in Camden.
The highway was closed near Route 70 for at least an hour while the police continued their investigation. They were mum on the identity of the victim.
