LEESBURG, Va. (WUSA) – A mother and two children were injured when their car hit a dump truck in Leesburg. This Sunday morning, two children and their mom sustained injured when a dump truck their hit their vehicle in Leesburg.

According to Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office authorities, the accident happened at 4:53 o’clock in the morning at Rt. 15/Raspberry Drive. It was a collision between a car and a dump truck.
The children received minor injuries and were immediately transported to the Cornwall Campus of Loudoun Hospital. They were treated and soon released.

The mother, who was the operator of the car, was airlifted by helicopter ambulance to Inova Fairfax Hospital. Medical authority stated that her injuries were non life-threatening
The driver of the dump truck was not injured. Police is making further investigation of the mishap.

The accident caused the closure of Route 15 in both directions for more than two hours.

Three days before this accident involving mother and children, an Arlington County Fire spokesperson reported that a mother and child were hit by a vehicle at Washington Boulevard and Glebe Road at approximately 8:35 morning of Friday.

According to Captain Greg Karl stated that a mother and her child were injured after being hit by a vehicle at the corner of Washington Boulevard and Glebe Road. The mother was transported with non life-threatening injuries to the local hospital. The good news was that the child appeared to be unharmed.

Capt. Karl could not say whether the mother and child were at a crosswalk or not. He said that the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated in the investigation.
