COBB COUNTY, Ga. –

A collision on Interstate 285 in Cobb County claimed the life of a man and backed up afternoon rush traffic for commuters on Friday. The police are now attempting to reconstruct the scene on Sunday morning.

The investigators are now trying to put together what had happened in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 285 in between Interstate 75 and the Chattahoochee River on the afternoon of Friday wherein a white 2006 International semi tractor-trailer truck, a black 2006 Lexus GS430 and a black 1997 Toyota Tacoma truck all became involved in a wreckage.

According to the authorities, a passenger of the pick-up truck perished on the scene of the accident. Police have not released the identity of the victim because they have not notified yet the family of the victim.

The driver of the pick-up truck was identified as 50-year-old Enio Tejada from Lawrenceville. He sustained non life-threatening injuries and was taken via ambulance to Wellstar Kennestone. He has since then been discharged from the hospital.

Both the driver of the tractor-trailer truck and the Lexus, 39-year-old Jamie Poole from Lula and 27-year-old Mark Shorthouse from Atlanta, respectively, were not harmed in the incident.

The same stretch of road was shut down by the authorities at about 8 in the morning of Sunday to pave the way of the reconstruction of the scene. According to the authorities, they got conflicting reports from witnesses but they are sure that one of the vehicles involved had made an improper lane change. They also added that the accident resulted in the overturning of the pick-up truck for several times.
