PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — An accident this Tuesday morning sent two Philadelphia police to the hospital after being injured in a crash.

The two-car collision happened at the intersection of Broad and York Streets in North Philadelphia.

According to the investigation, a civilian car hit the cruiser with two female police officers inside.

The impact of the car caused the police cruiser to hit head-on into a utility pole.

Both officers were admitted to Temple University Hospital for treatment and doctors stated that their injuries are not life-threatening.

No information was given regarding the condition of the driver in the striking vehicle.

The police are still investigating the accident.
