Officials said that on Wednesday morning, a pedestrian victim died after being struck by a hit-and-run in Hemet.

According to CHP, Thomas Fletcher, Jr. age 65 and resident of Hemet was trying to go across the roadway at the corner of Cal State Route No.74 and Cal State Route No.79 when he was hit by a vehicle operated by a motorist who remains unidentified. The incident happened at about 5:25 o’clock in the morning.

The motorist then left the scene. Fletcher sustained life-threatening injuries which caused him to expire after a while.

Official’s investigation continues to find and arrest the hit-and-run driver.
