A resident of Philadelphia died following a two-car accident on Route 70 in Manchester Saturday night.

Twenty-eight year old Jason Feliciano died as a result of a head-ob collision while attempting to pass several cars. He was driving east on Route 70 in a 2001 Honda Accord when he attempted to pass cars in front of him.

His car collided with Elizabeth M. Froelich,’s 2004 Chrysler Sebring. Mills, 54 of Browns Mills was travelling with her girlfriend Janoris Baez, 23, and three children, ages 4, 5, and 6. Even though the children were not wearing proper restraints, they were wearing seat belts during the accident according to police.

Feliciano was taken to Medical Center in Toms River. He was pronounced dead at around 7 pm.

According to police Janoris Baez sustained injuries in her head and neck. Lian Gonzalez- Baez, 5 and Sheilianis Fuentes-Baez were also injured. Angel Torres, 6, suffered serious head injuries. All were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune

Police say Froelich has suffered injuries to her arms, wrist and collar bone. She was transported to Community Medical Center.

Emergency response teams such as Lakehurst Fire Department, the Whiting Volunteer Fire Department, Quality Medical Transport, Whiting First Aid, MONOC Paramedics, CIU, New Jersey State Police, New Jersey Department of Transportation and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office were all at the scene to assist.

Ptl. Douglas Higgins, Ptl. Patrick Cervenak and Ptl Ian Bole of the Manchester Traffic Safety Section are all investigating the crash.
