A single vehicle accident happened last Friday which involved a pedestrian. Toledo Police are investigating a single vehicle accident involving a senior pedestrian on Friday afternoon,
Authorities reported that the victim was a senior, 65-year-old Ralph McGee, resident of Hillsdale. He was hit along the 4400 block of Monroe at a little after 6: o’clock in the evening.
According to the official, McGee suddenly darted out into the roadway from the south side of the street, and got into the path of the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was an 18-year-old young man identified as Kevin Kretz.
McGee was immediately transported by the Life squad to Toledo Hospital for treatment. As of press release, no report was released regarding his condition.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured. The police are now investigating to know if the accident was alcohol or drug-related. They are trying to find out if there is a need to file charges for persons responsible for the crash.
Almost on the same day, the same thing happened but this time the victim was a young boy. Authorities reported that a 9-year-old boy has been seriously injured after being struck by a pick-up truck in a possible alcohol-related crash.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the injured was identified as Mavin Hamilton, a 9-year old boy, who suddenly darted into the roadway and was hit Thursday evening in Fostoria.
The driver of the truck said that the boy was just there and he could not brake fast enough. Hamilton was taken to a Fostoria Hospital but due to his life-threatening injuries, he was airlifted to Toledo Hospital.
The driver of the truck was not hurt. Troopers believed that alcohol was a factor in the crash. They say charges are pending.
