READING – A Sunday night wreck left aTerre Hill man dead. The victim suffered from critical injuries that he died after reaching the hospital.
The fatality was identified as Justin Heagy, 27 years old who expired at the Reading Hospital on Tuesday due injuries sustained in the crash.
It was a Sunday night, a little after 9:30 o’clock when the mishap occurred at the corner of White Oak Road and at the Earl Township. The 16 years old driver was crossing the lane towards the oncoming traffic when he hit Heagy’s car. The two vehicles collided but the impact was greater on the car of Heagy.
Heagy’s vehicle was totally crushed due to the impact that the emergency crew had to extricate him from the vehicle. His injury was so massive that he was immediately airlifted to Reading Hospital. However, after a few minutes, the victim was pronounced dead.
He had a lady-passenger in his car who was identified as 23-year-old Jennifer Weaver, a resident of Ephrata. She was also injured and was immediately taken to Lancaster General Hospital. However, her injury was not life-threatening where she was treated and released after treatment.
The 16-year-old driver from the other car was also injured but his injuries were minor. After treatment, he was released and allowed to go home.
The police are continuing their investigation as they are working with the DA Office of Lancaster County and have asked possible witnesses to add to their date of information. They are trying to work on the possibility of filing charges.
