KESINGTON DELAWARE – State Police were on the scene of an accident involving two vehicles which happened on I-95 just northbound of Route 896 Newark.
It was an early morning mishap which occurred around 6:30 o’clock on Wednesday near Girard Avenue just at the I-95 southbound lanes. The crash on the Kensington section of I-95 in Philadelphia caused the injury of two people.
The police reported that two vehicles collided and were ultimately smashed against the middle of the barrier.
Two people were injured; one was suffering from various injuries and immediately delivered to the local hospital. Medical official said that the patient is now in a stable condition. The injury of the other victim was treated and sent to the hospital.
The two vehicles that collided were towed out of the site.
State Police of Delaware conducted their investigation right at the scene of the collision which took place at 3:15 p.m. at Route 896 on I-95 northbound of Newark.
According to the authorities, an SUV coming from southbound 1-95 lanes was crossing over to the northbound lane and hit a vehicle head-on.
The impact of the crash trapped the 24-year-old operator of the SUV inside his vehicle and were extricated by the fire department team.
Suffering from critical injuries, he was rushed to the Christiana Hospital.
The 20-year old operator of the second vehicle sustained injuries on the head, chest and extremities. She was delivered to the Christiana Hospital and is currently in stable condition.
Police are undertaking an investigation to determine what caused the collision and preparing to file charges on person/s responsible for the mishap.
The two colliding vehicles were removed by the crew from the scene.
