After the wreckage of an overturned tractor-trailer, all lanes of Interstate 85 have reopened as the wreckage was removed from the middle of the roadway.

Georgia Department of Transportation officials stated that the tractor trailer was carrying 46,000 pounds of concrete slabs. It was shortly before 9 o’clock, the mishap occurred when the overturned tractor trailer and diesel spill had blocked lanes of Interstate 85 northbound at Georgia 316 in Gwinnett County.

According to Georgia Department of Transportation, before the roadway could be opened, a section of damaged asphalt had to be removed and replaced.

The State Police are advising motorists who are heading southbound on I-85 to take the Satellite Boulevard as an alternate. For those drivers who are trying to get to GA 316, they can use GA 120 is an alternative.

On the 13th of December, the eastbound Interstate 20 has fully reopened near Highway 113 in the Carroll County.

There were no other vehicles involved in the crash and the good news; according to GDOT was that no one else was hurt. No additional details were released.
