Los Angeles – Police reported of an accident involving an accident of a semi trailer and a pickup truck that critically injured one victim who was immediately transported to a local hospital. The mishap occurred this morning at the corner of San Fernando Road and Lankershim Boulevard at the Sun Valley Area.
The driver of the pickup was trapped inside his Nissan after it crashed into the semi. The emergency crew was able to extricate him from his vehicle using the Jaw of Life. He was delivered to an area hospital for treatment of critical injuries. His Nissan was a total wreck.
The name of the injured victim was not made public by law enforcement as investigation of the crash is ongoing.
A fatal accident happened on the same day involving a motorcyclist who was killed in a collision with a tractor trailer. A motorcycle is too small against the crash of a tractor trailer. The fatal accident happened at 8:10 o’clock in the morning sat the 110 Freeway near Mount Washington.
Authorities are continuing their probe to determine who will be filed charges but official of the Fire Department said that the tractor trailer cut off the motorcyclist, forcing him to crash into the off-ramp.
The motor rider of the crash was a 59-year-old man, has not yet been Id. A traffic official said it appeared that the tractor trailer was violating the 6,000 pound weight limit law for that section of the I-110. He added that lanes found on the parkway are hardly enough for cars, it cannot accommodate big rigs. Police emphasized that no big rigs are allowed in the Intersection and anyone who sees a heavy truck attempting to enter that part of I-110 should call 911 immediately.
Up to this time, no arrest has been made as the investigation is pending.
