A college student from Queens perished on Sunday when she lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a tree at a parkway at Queens, according police and her friends.

The victim, 21 year old Ghiantie Chetran, a business major at St. John’s University perished in the crash that happened at 6 in the evening, her friends said.

She was driving her 2008Nissan Sedan eastbound on Jackie Robinson Parkway when she had lost the control of her car and ended up crashing into a tree near the Forest Park exit in Glendale.

Vidina Chetrau, a friend of the victim, had said that Chetran was very smart and was a very sweet girl and that she could not believe that the accident happened.

Chetran was confirmed dead at Jamaica Hospital shortly after she crashed into the tree.

Family of Chetran was deeply hurt by her demise even more so that it happened on Mother’s day, according to her friends.

A family friend had said that for a mother to lose a daughter on Mother’s day is the worst thing that could have ever happened.

Chetran’s body was identified in the evening by her grieving parents.

Family friends comforted Chetran’s family in their home in Queens.
