KENT, Del.- A police are looking into the possibility whether a nearby fire may have been a factor in a fatal crash on Monday afternoon along Route 1.

According ti Milford Police Lt. Steven Rust, several drivers were distracted and had stopped over to the shoulder of Route 1 to witness the ongoing fire at the nearby Hampton Inn on Monday that the firefighters were trying to put out.

Peterman’s Buick Century was on the northbound shoulder of Del. 1 and a Peterbilt delivery truck containing propane was driving northbound on the right lane during the time of the crash, Whether Peterman was parked in the shoulder of Del. 1 or had been driving towards the shoulder and for what reason remains to be looked into.
The driver of the propane delivery truck, 50-year-old George Marvel from Milton, was not harmed and was pretty distressed about the incident and had problem remembering the details.
