NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – Eight cars were involved in a crash early morning at the Florida Turnpike near its intersection in I-75, according to the report of Florida Highway Patrol.

The police had to close all the lanes going north of the Homestead Extension at the Okeechobee Road for many hours. For several hours, all the lanes going northbound of the Homestead Extension had to be closed. For now, all lanes have been opened.

Authorities identified that two of the vehicles involved in the crash were dump trucks
Two victims were airlifted by helicopter ambulance to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A few days ago, on October 5, a multi-vehicle crash occurred in Florida’s Turnpike in Lake County which blocked the northbound lanes.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, there were nine vehicles involved in the crash. They are investigating the crash and will report further details later.

On August 12, a wreck of an accident happened at Florida’s Turnpike which entangled traffic for miles way up to the southbound lanes. It was after 4:30 p.m. when traffic was reopened.

The scene was so terrible that traffic was backed up for miles. Motorists saw a splintered guardrail fence on the 18th St. overpass at Southwest Florida’s Turnpike. There was a mangled vehicle below the southbound lanes and at its wheel was the dead driver.
Authorities had to reroute the traffic as vehicles were already spilling up almost to Atlantic Avenue as far as the closed southbound side.
