Four people died and 9 were airlifted to the hospital after a multi-vehicle accident happened at Fort Worth late Saturday night. At least 4 vehicles were involved in the crash.
Emergency crews were dispatched at the scene around 12 midnight according to Terry Grisham of the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office. At least 4 vehicles were involved in the crash that occurred at the 1500 block of Burleson-Retta Road. Four people were already dead on the scene.
Police say that evidence suggests that alcohol and speed might be factors in the crash.
Grisham said that anybody looking at the vehicles would know that large vehicles cannot be propelled at such distances without significant speed being involved.
Witnesses who have spoken to police and neighbors confirm that a mother and daughter were killed. According to them the victims lived on the street and went outside to help stranded motorists.
Youth pastor at Alsbury Baptist Church also died in the crash. He stopped to help a stranded motorist.
Investigators say Jennings was driving home from his son’s graduation party Saturday night. He got out of the car to help when he was killed. Two children of another church member were in his car. They were both unharmed according to a Senior Pastor Scott Sharman.
Jennings is survived by his wife Shauna, 2 sons and a daughter.
