GUSTINE – A woman from Gustine sustained critical injuries after a three-vehicle crash last Thursday afternoon. This led to the arrest of a man from Newman who was charged for driving DUI and fleeing the scene after the mishap.
Officer of the Highway Patrol of California in Los Banos, Mike Pinheiro reported that the crash took place at 4:05 o’clock in the afternoon, in the vicinity of Sanches Road in between Gustine and Newman along Highway 33.
According to the authorities, an driver identified as 39-years-old Julio Villarreal was operating a Honda 2005 Accord northward on 33. For unknown reasons, the Honda swerved towards the median and in the process collided with two approaching vehicles. One car was a Ford Explorer with driver Alahmed Abdulhreem, age 27, resident of Newman while the other vehicles was a GMA 2005 Yukon, operated by 55 years-old Pamela Gonzales from Gustine.
CHP officer Pinheiro was unable to identify which vehicle the Honda struck first – whether it was the Explorer or the GMA.
After Villarreal hit both cars, he drove away, but was apprehended after some minutes while speeding along Canal School Road and Inyo Avenue. After the officers’ hadVillareal in custody, he was evaluated and the discovered that he was driving under the influence of alcohol, added Pinheiro said.
The errant driver brought to the Correction Facility in Sandy Mush. He was charged with the following: hit-and-run felony and DUI. Abdulhreem driver of the Explorer was transported to an area hospital as he sustained non-critical injuries. Yukon operator Gonzales was airlifted by helicopter ambulance to Modesto Hospital suffering major injuries.

Old Town Temecula was the scene of a three-car crash on the night of Friday which delayed commuters as it resulted into a terrific traffic jam.
At about 7:30 o’clock that evening, a mishap happened at the corner of Rancho California Road and Jefferson Ave in Temecula.
Silver SUV turned off the road, rolled over and alighted on the rooftop of Jefferson Avenue’s southbound side. Two other vehicles were involved in the collision – a white Corolla Toyota sedan and a red Mini-Cooper.
The police accounted for two injured after the crash; however, injuries sustained were described as minor. But they were delivered to an area hospital for treatment.
The scene of the accident was in the night of Temecula where three cars collided and sent two injured to the hospital.
The two victims were brought to an area hospital through ground ambulance with minor injuries.
The mishap was followed a snarled road which were directed by Temecula police. Investigators were also interviewing witnesses to get complete details of the incident.
Aside from the Police department who responded to the call, Fire Department crews from the Riverside County arrived at the site with their fire truck and engine.
After the crash, traffic slowed down and it took at least an hour before the area was cleared. Rancho California eastbound Road and Jefferson Avenue southbound were closed for some time.
As all lanes were gradually open, traffic started to flow smoothly after 9:00 o’clock in the
