Los Feliz, Los Angeles – Before the tragedy, Damian Kevitt was a healthy and enthusiastic cyclist; today, he is in the ICU minus his two legs.

According to the police, as Kevitt was riding his bike near a freeway at Griffith Park, a car hit Kevitt, dragged him some distance from the site and left him for dying beside the road.

Michele Kevitt Kirkland, the victim’s mother said that the errant driver sped up and knocked her son under the vehicle; then dragged a body almost a quarter of a mile along the freeway.

Due to the ordeal, the left and right legs of Kevitt had to be amputated. In all, 20 bones of his body were broken and he had and will be undergoing various surgeries.

Kirkland said that if her son was not wearing helmet, he would have died. At least, there was a protection for his head.

A physician, Dr. Elijah Wasson, was driving along the way and witnessed the carnage on the freeway. He said that it was the worst injury he has witnessed as a physician for many years.

California Highway Patrol is now on the look-out for the male driver of a minivan possibly a Sienna Toyota which has a marked of for sale on its body. The police concurred that the operator was male.

Kirkland is hoping that the culprit will soon be arrested and for her, the driver was not a ham as he was so inhuman in running over some and left him dying on the road.
