An action packed, movie-like multi-vehicular car accident on a Monday night had resulted to seven people being injured and the closure of Whitestone Bridge for four hours, according to the police.
A motorist that was Queens-bound was passing through the toll booth in the Bronx side at about 10:55 in the evening and was recklessly driving his vehicle. He eventually hit one car and then a chain-like reaction of colliding cars ensued. All in all, eight cars were involved in the accident, according to the police.
One involved car ended on top of another and more than one car was overturned. Involved in the car crash also included a tractor trailer but was not considered as the cause of the accident.
According to a police source, the accident seemed like a scene out of a movie and was even surprised that there were not more vehicles involved.
The cause of the accident was a 2006 BMW who was drive by a 47 year old man. All in all, he hit three vehicles and had rear-ended one of them.
It was not made immediately clear whether the driver was issued a summons for the accident.
The lanes of the bridge that was heading southbound were temporarily closed for four hours.
