MCCOMB — A fatal car crash caused one fatality. Police in McComb are conducting their investigation of a deadly mishap which led to the death of one pedestrian. The police are now making their investigation to get at the bottom of the incident/

Shortly before 2 o’clock in the morning of Saturday, the victim was hit by a truck. The accident occurred at the State Route 186 near the railroad tracks in McComb.

The victim was transported to the hospital but he died after.

Last Thursday night, another pedestrian was hit by a pick-up truck. The victim was identified as a 9-year-old boy who was critically injured. According to witnesses, the boy darted into a Fostoria roadway and was hit by a pick-up truck.

Police stated that the boy was not following safety rules in crossing a street. The crash occurred at, around 5:30 in the afternoon at the Columbus Avenue near Lytle Street.

Investigators found out that the ay 9-year-old boy, identified as Mavin Hamilton just ran out from behind a building. The pick-up truck operator, identified as74-year-old George Tucker was not expecting any pedestrian to cross the road.

Initially, Hamilton was transported to Fostoria Hospital for treatment but due to his life threatening injuries was later airlifted to Toledo Hospital. AS of today, he is still listed in critical condition.

The truck operator, Tucker, a resident of 141 E. Eagle Street, was not harmed in the crash but could facing criminal charges as officials believed that alcohol may have played a role in the accident.

Ohio State Highway Patrol assisted at the scene with accident reconstruction and are continuing investigation of the crash.
