CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP Pa. – Franklin-based State Police reported that a three-vehicle accident occurred in Cranberry Township, Venango County, Pa.
Police stated that around 3:22 o’clock in the evening of October 26, 2012, there women involved in a crash on PA 257 at its intersection with Meadow Road. The three women were identified as: 82-year-old Jean A. Woods who is resident of Oil City, 66-year-old Vicki S. Bradley also resident of Oil City, and 46-year-old Evelyn K. Lindsey who comes from Franklin.
According to police, Woods, operating a 2012 KIA Soul and Bradley, driving a 2005 Chevrolet Uplander, were going north on SR 257 and were approaching a red light.
Police said that Woods failed to brake for the red light and hit Bradley’s vehicle in the rear end which made her collide striking Lindsey’s 2005 Hyundai Tucson in the left rear end.
After the collision, all three vehicles came to final rest in the right lane.
Since Woods was wearing a seat belt, she received only moderate injuries; Community Ambulance delivered her to UPMC Northwest.
Bradley who was also wearing her seat belt did not sustain any injury.
A passenger in Bradley’s vehicle, identified as 39-year-old Jennifer A. Jolley resident of Oil City was wearing a seat belt and suffered only minor injuries.
She was brought to the UPMC Northwest by Community Ambulance.
Lindsey, the driver of the Hyundai, was wearing a seat belt and was not injured at all.
All the victims of the accident were only minimally injured which proved that wearing seat belt minimizes the risk of vehicular mishaps.
The police cited Woods for a traffic violation.
Assisting at the scene were the Seneca Fire Company and Community EMS.
