Death was the rendezvous of a motorcycle rider as he was involved in a horrific crash in SoHo. Police stated that ay Larry Olavarria, age 32, resident of Clifton, N.J. ran a red light Wednesday afternoon and crashed into a minivan. The mishap took place at around 4:30 o’clock in the afternoon along Houston Street at West Broadway.
When officers reached the site, they found the victim unconscious and unresponsive. He was soon pronounced dead at the scene.
No criminality is suspected. The investigation is ongoing.
Cops said that a motorcyclist died that Wednesday when his vehicle collided with a minivan from the Village. Olavarria was riding a Honda bike going east along W. Houston Street when he ran a red light and T-boned with a minivan Chrysler minivan traveling north on West Broadway at about 4:20 o’clock in the afternoon.
Witnesses saw rescuers trying to revive Olavarria. When his family and friends arrived at the scene, they could hardly believe what happened.
Witnesses saw that the driver of the minivan waited for cops, who said that they are ruling out criminality.
Less than three days ago, a man was fatally hit by a motorcycle after he unintentionally darted into traffic at the Washington Heights.
The victim was identified as John Fernandez, age 37, who was just standing on the double yellow line in mid Amsterdam Ave. along the vicinity of 166th St., located about half a mile from his home. He unintentionally stepped out into the path of the motor bike about 4:20 o’clock in the morning of Saturday. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The rider of the motorcycle was ejected from his BMW 2012 BMW and was transported under critical condition to the Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell in New York.
The motorcyclist has not been field charges.
Three days after the horrific accident, a motorcyclist was killed after his bike became uncontrolled and crashed into a parked car along Brooklyn last Wednesday night, as reported by the police said.
The fatality was identified as Eric Zaman, age 33, resident of Queens, who was biking going west along Jamaica Ave. at New York East when he slammed against a parked Honda 2008 Accord along the vicinity of Barbey St. a little after 10:30 o’clock in the evening.
Emergency crews immediately delivered Zaman to the University Hospital & Medical Center of Brookdale where he expired.
Zaman’s family and friends said that he was a hard worker and always kept away from trouble.
The cousin of the deceased, Ryan Budhram, age 29, still considered the tragedy unbelievable.
Zaman’s best friend, Sean Lopez, age 25, said that the deceased was good kid, working for UPS handling a respectable job.
Cops mentioned that a police car was driving right behind the two motorcyclists along the same street moments before the accident occurred.
